Average Negative Plainview, NY

My first touchpoint was through an AI-based interview, and honestly it wasn’t too bad. After that, I had a second interview directly with the hiring manager. That conversation ended up being the hardest part of the process, not because the questions were wildly technical, but because of how it went.

The hiring manager focused on my lack of industry experience for an internship role and bluntly questioned why I applied. I remember feeling thrown off by the tone—he didn’t just assess my fit, he essentially told me there were better-qualified people and questioned whether I belonged in the process at all. It came across as unprofessional to put it that way during an interview instead of simply declining me.

Difficult Neutral Horsham, PA

After I got through the early stages, I ended up in an interview that was mainly centered on my background and how I would translate it to the role. I talked about my previous experience and how I could contribute with what I’d already done, and we also spent time discussing the day-to-day challenges I expected to run into.

I also had another interview experience where the person on the other side was genuinely eager to talk about the company and the role. That interviewer asked me questions about myself and invited me to go deeper instead of cutting me off quickly. The tone made it feel more like a conversation than an interrogation, and overall it left me with a positive impression.
