Difficult Positive Australia

My interview journey had a semi-structured feel. First I did a phone call with the hiring manager, where we went through the basics and got to the point fairly directly. Then the next round was more layered: I met face to face with my manager, and after that I sat through a panel interview.

The format made it feel like they were checking both my fit with how I’d work day to day and my ability to handle multiple people at once. The conversations were straightforward enough, but having the panel after speaking with my manager made the pacing feel more intense and more “prove it” than casual.

Average Negative Tempe, AZ

My experience started with promising conversations, including an initial talk with the hiring manager that went well, and then follow-up steps that got increasingly chaotic. I was asked to provide a 30–60–90 day plan right after the first call, and it set a tone that felt like I was already being pulled toward a timeline. I then tried to coordinate with people I’d work with directly, and I even reached out broadly to build alignment.

After that, I was supposed to speak with sales colleagues, but the communication quickly turned into silence. I reached out repeatedly and even tried to loop the hiring manager in, while nothing moved forward on the sales side. At some point I was asked to take a personality/math/English test and returned it the same day. I still didn’t hear back, and the process turned into a long stretch of unanswered follow-ups and ghosting.
