My process started with a recruiter, and once I finished the full sequence the recruiter told me I’d been approved and they were looking for a team match for my background. The interview journey itself ran as a set of four stages: a live coding interview of about an hour with a senior engineer, followed by a technical/systems design interview of about an hour with a principal engineer. After that came a collaboration-style round for about forty-five minutes, and then a final hiring-manager call for around thirty minutes.

The technical parts felt real and specific. The live coding challenge involved building around a label tracking idea using hash maps and priority queues, and the discussion quickly moved into complexity analysis and thread-safety considerations, plus how I thought about CI/CD while coding. In the systems design round, I was asked to design something Ticketmaster-style for a high-concurrency booking scenario, with conversation around seat locking, Redis Redlock, and database strategy choices. By the end, I also had time for resume/project walkthrough discussion.

The recruiter call was fast and didn’t waste much time, which set the tone for how the process felt. After that, I ran into a problem-solving interview that was more intense than I expected: I had to write tests as part of it, and I needed to be comfortable working in my own project environment, not just solving the logic in isolation.

The actual problem felt manageable, but the test-writing requirement made it harder to execute smoothly. I left feeling like the difficulty came less from the core question and more from the practical constraints around verifying behavior.
