After a recruiter resume screen, I was asked to complete a medium-level LeetCode-style technical round in about an hour. The interviewer started by asking a few questions tied directly to my resume before diving into the coding. The whole thing felt like a straightforward “see how you think” session rather than a puzzle-only test.
Once I finished the coding and related discussion, I got positive feedback during the live problem-solving portion. Then a week later I received a canned rejection that claimed I lacked the technical depth to complete the questions on time, which really didn’t match how the conversation went. After that, communication simply stopped. The most frustrating part was that it felt like my outcome had already been decided regardless of the actual interaction I just had.

Difficult Positive Cluj-Napoca
I ran into a more intense path early on, starting with an online assessment that focused on competitive programming. It was two problems to solve in ninety minutes, and the difficulty landed in the medium-hard range. After that, I moved into a technical discussion paired with live coding.
The live portion used a HackerRank-style Java challenge. I had to think on the spot while the interviewer also talked through my past projects and internship experience. The interview felt like it was trying to connect my coding approach to how I’d worked before, rather than treating everything as separate compartments.
