My Uber interview loop took around two months end to end, and it ended in rejection. It started with an online assessment where I received an OA link containing two LeetCode-style medium-to-hard problems, and I was able to solve both.

After the OA, I went through multiple rounds that mixed different evaluation types. The loop included an LLD and HLD stage, plus a behavioral component, and at different points they asked DSA and design-oriented questions rather than only coding. Overall the process felt like a lot of steps stacked together, and by the time it reached the final decision I felt like I’d done enough technically to expect a better result.

My process started with an online assessment that looked like classic LeetCode-style practice—medium to hard—and it focused heavily on DSA topics like arrays, strings, trees/graphs, heaps, and dynamic programming. I remember that time complexity and edge cases were emphasized, so it wasn’t enough to produce something that worked on the obvious path.

After that, the next steps included multiple technical interviews. These were live coding sessions, often centered on system or data-structure style problem solving rather than a perfectly canned “one-liner” LeetCode exercise. I also had a system design interview with backend focus where they asked for both high-level and low-level design of scalable systems, with examples connected to ride matching, trip pricing, notifications, and payments.
