Average Neutral United States

My interview journey followed a pretty standard cadence for this role. After initial conversations, I progressed into three rounds of technical interviews, each one centered on a different piece of quantitative work: data analysis, coding, and statistics. In each round, the interviewer didn’t just stop after my first answer—they followed up to test whether I could explain my reasoning, back up my methodology, and apply the concepts to realistic problem-solving scenarios.

In the earlier stage, I had an online assessment that tested both coding and regression-style thinking. The coding questions were meant to be done within a time limit, and the regression component came with edge cases that made it feel less like a “straight from the template” exercise. After that, the first round of interviews focused on data analysis, which matched the idea that they wanted a systematic way to reason before diving into implementation.

Difficult Neutral United States

After applying, I moved into interviews that felt very focused on core quantitative reasoning. I had a live discussion where I had to predict house prices starting from an initial dataset, and the conversation ramped up as we went deeper. We talked through model choice, how to select variables, and how to validate the approach, with the interviewer pushing on the details of my reasoning rather than letting me stay at a high level.

Later, I had a more structured technical screen: one hour of coding followed by one hour of stats/probability. The coding itself felt fairly straightforward, but the probability portion was heavier and more involved. I remember feeling that the test wasn’t just about knowing definitions—it was about using them quickly and accurately, and I had the distinct impression that familiarity with materials like the “green book” mattered because a question was pulled directly from it.
