What is a User Experience Researcher at Turo?
As a User Experience Researcher at Turo, you play a pivotal role in shaping the world’s largest peer-to-peer car-sharing marketplace. Your mission is to bridge the gap between digital interactions and physical-world experiences. Unlike traditional software-only platforms, Turo operates in a highly complex, two-sided marketplace where trust, logistics, and real-world safety intersect. You will be responsible for understanding the diverse needs of both hosts (who share their cars to build businesses) and guests (who book cars for travel, errands, and adventures).
Your insights will directly influence product strategy, design decisions, and engineering roadmaps. Whether you are exploring how to streamline the vehicle handoff process, optimizing the host onboarding flow, or deep-diving into trust and safety perceptions, your research will ensure that Turo remains intuitive, reliable, and delightful. This role requires a balance of rigorous research methodologies, deep empathy, and business acumen to translate user behaviors into actionable product initiatives.
By working at the intersection of digital product design and physical operations, you will tackle unique challenges that standard e-commerce platforms never face. Your ability to map out end-to-end user journeys—from browsing the app to unlocking a vehicle on the street—makes this position both highly strategic and incredibly rewarding.
