Average Neutral Sydney

My interview started with a presentation, and that basically set the rhythm for the whole day. I got instructions about a project I could choose about a week before, and when I got there the session ran as a presentation followed by a Q&A. After that, there was an additional structured discussion where I was given a sheet of paper, got about 10–15 minutes to prep, and then talked through the industry.

The whole thing felt formal, but not hostile. I went into the first part knowing exactly what the format required, and the question style made it clear they were listening for motivations and how I reacted when they probed deeper. Then later I sat with managers for a longer conversation that lasted close to an hour, where the discussion moved from my reasons for applying into more detailed digging around my motivations.

Difficult Positive Canada

I started with two rounds and it felt pretty intentional from the get-go. The process began with an online recording where I had to answer questions they provided, and then a second in-person session where I prepared a PowerPoint presentation ahead of time.

For the presentation round, it wasn’t treated like a gotcha. The vibe was professional but warm, and the interviews quickly felt like they were trying to understand how I worked and how I’d represent the company. I remember noticing how quickly the tone shifted from formal to more casual, and how it became obvious what they were actually looking for as the conversation went on.
