My journey lasted a long time and became increasingly heavy. It took at least six interviews, and it wasn’t just interviews—there was also a homework assignment and a WebEx presentation. The theme was understanding how to handle common BI complexities, especially around query behavior when multiple fact tables were involved and chasm-style issues come up.

What made it feel unusually intense was that the homework required using my own preferred BI tool rather than ThoughtSpot. Only after going through all of that did they move toward additional steps for deciding whether to make an offer. Management required timed online intelligence and personality trait assessments.
