The hardest part wasn’t just coding—it was how the experience felt: interviewers were either uninspired or the sessions lacked real collaboration.

Some of the pressure was topped off by a very specific theme around internal chaos. People in the loop explicitly described the firm as being stuck in constant messy re-orgs, and the leadership presence came across as overly performative rather than grounded. At the same time, I ran into an unpleasant HR-side dynamic around compensation, with the verbal range dropping after I’d already invested in references and waiting through silence.
