My interview process for FP&A rounds spanned about a few hours and became a very personal, high-contrast experience. I interviewed individually with three men working in FP&A, and they were all fairly focused on my prior experience and how I’d fit into their environment.
Two of the interviewers were genuinely pleasant and asked me questions about my FP&A background. They seemed especially interested in whether I’d managed people directly, and they pressed on that gap in my experience, so I had to work around it by explaining other kinds of leadership or collaboration I’d done. The third interviewer was much harsher and disrupted the flow of the interview by canceling during my conversation with his coworker.

I started with a 30-minute call with a recruiter, which then led into a long superday—about three and a half hours—about the team I would potentially be working with. That day included multiple types of conversations, starting with a meeting with an associate manager. From there I had time with a potential peer, then I went into a case study.
The superday ended with my manager, rounding out the loop so the evaluation moved across different perspectives rather than staying within one interviewer style. The whole experience felt more involved and time-heavy than I expected for an initial stage. I didn’t receive an offer, but the format was thorough, and I came away feeling like they had enough data points to judge both how I thought and how I’d work with different people.
