I went through a sequence that felt heavily skewed toward a narrow technical profile. The first thing I noticed was the framing of the role itself: the interview centered on Java, and the time was carved up so that almost the entire technical slot was essentially Java-only, even though the job description sounded like it might involve more around automation topics. I remember the interviewer pushing hard on Java questions and coding, and it was genuinely surprising how little attention there was to the tooling side.
In another round of conversation, they kept circling back to Java-adjacent choices for things like API testing and verification, even after I explained how the approach I used did the same work more compactly. The questions kept narrowing in on “why aren’t you using this specific Java tool/library,” and when I tried to connect my experience back to their expectations, it didn’t seem to land.

Average Positive Bengaluru
After a recruiter call, the process moved pretty quickly into a structured set of rounds. I ended up doing three interviews total: first a technical discussion that leaned heavily on appium along with general programming questions, then a second technical round where the focus shifted to working through a program again and talking about locators, and finally an HR round to cover salary and benefits.
What stood out to me was how practical the technical rounds felt—less about abstract theory and more about how I approached automation and implementation details. Even though the scheduling and format varied, the interviews consistently stayed in that same rhythm: one technical screen, one deeper hands-on conversation, then HR.
