The part that defined my Taboola experience was the HR conversation. It began by phone and then continued in person, and during it the HR interviewer didn’t seem to have read my CV beforehand. I tried to walk through what I’d done in previous projects and the challenges I’d worked through, but I didn’t feel like the questions were grounded in my background. The conversation also didn’t give me much clarity about what their team was doing differently or what they were really hiring for.

When I asked direct questions about hiring pace—how many engineers they’d brought on over a recent window—the response felt hostile rather than informative. The interviewer kept focusing on how great the company was without actually addressing the specifics I was asking about. By the time the process ended, it felt like my time and preparation didn’t translate into a meaningful evaluation, and that left me with a distinctly negative impression of how I was treated.
