My process started off normally—an HR phone screen that went well, followed by a video call with the hiring manager. On that manager call, I quickly felt the tone wasn’t warm; the conversation was very dry and it didn’t seem like the discussion was building momentum toward a decision. I reached back out for an update shortly after, but I didn’t hear back, and eventually I received a Workday-style email that they were moving forward with other candidates.

Later, I experienced another attempt that had a slightly clearer sequence, but the same frustrating end. After a recruiter screen, I went through a technical interview, then a director interview, then a senior engineer interview. Throughout those conversations I got positive verbal feedback and even heard that the team liked me. I was asked about start dates, which made it feel closer than it ended up being.

The recruiter reached out to me first by phone, then I had a separate phone screen with a few questions focused on my projects and experience. After that, the process ramped up into a larger in-person loop where I ended up going through five rounds with five different people.

In the onsite interview, two of the conversations were technical and three were more behavioral. I also got taken around the company on a tour while the day was in progress, and it felt like the interviewers were trying to keep things moving without too much pressure. Across the whole process, I’d describe the atmosphere as pretty relaxed, and the people I spoke with were friendly.
