Average Positive Mumbai

I started with a recruiter phone screen for a software engineer role, and it was a pretty standard fit-focused conversation. We covered why I wanted to join SIG, talked about a project I worked on, and I answered typical background questions. The interviewer was trying to gauge whether my experience matched what they were looking for.

Even though the call itself didn’t feel hostile, the outcome didn’t go my way. I ended up getting rejected, and I attributed it to the company needing more senior experience aligned with specific algorithm-system certifications in their processes—something I didn’t have. In the second part of this journey, the process felt rough operationally: there were many rounds before an onsite, and after taking time off for the onsite, I didn’t hear back for a long stretch, even after follow-up emails.
