I ran into Stripe through an online assessment that wasn’t the usual LeetCode style. It was multi-part on HackerRank and leaned heavily into parsing and data processing rather than graph puzzles or dynamic programming patterns. The overall difficulty wasn’t something I could quantify precisely, but the way it was framed made it feel like they cared more about how I handled text/data transformations than about quick algorithm tricks.
The process around the assessment was the main experience I walked away with: completing that multi-part parsing task and then seeing what came next. My account didn’t include the later rounds, so I mostly remember the assessment itself as the central checkpoint.

Easy Negative Ireland
My Stripe experience was shaped less by the questions themselves and more by scheduling breakdowns and ghosting after commitments. I started with the recruiter stage and then got set up for interview time; every step sounded coordinated until the actual meetings. When the time came for the first technical round, the engineer simply didn’t show, and I had to email repeatedly over weeks. I never even received a basic acknowledgment.
I then went through another recruiter flow that ended the same way: after I joined a scheduled call, no one showed up, and rescheduling attempts went unanswered for a while. There were other moments where I’d be asked for availability and then left waiting again—responses that appeared days or weeks later but didn’t lead anywhere. The whole thing dragged out, and it made the process feel robotic rather than considerate.
