After that, the process moved into a more traditional managerial conversation with an engineering manager and a tech lead.
That manager round was split into two modes: first behavioral prompts like “tell me about a time” style questions, then a technical portion that connected to the skills and technologies listed in the job description and my resume. Even though I wasn’t given deep coding during those final stages, the technical discussion felt like it was meant to verify I actually understood what I’d claimed on paper.
