I experienced an efficient, fairly traditional flow. A recruiter reached out after I was selected, and then I had a successful technical interview with my line manager online. After that, the process moved to an in-person visit to their centre.

The whole thing felt straightforward and professional, with no weird detours. In the end, the process concluded with a clear decision—either moving forward or closing the loop quickly based on fit. The interviewer felt pleasant and the conversation stayed focused on my experience and what the company was like.

I applied for a role online and the process stretched out for a long time with huge gaps between interviews. I was joining from the Hatfield, UK area, and while I knew I only advanced if I passed the previous step, nobody could clearly tell me how many interviews there were or what the remaining format would be—even after asking. The HR/recruitment side also felt slow to respond, so I often didn’t know where I stood.

I ended up doing four interviews online that together added up to almost six hours. The first was about my CV and interests, but I got odd questions too—like explaining the different phases of the agile method. Next was a pair programming round where they gave me half-written code and asked me to complete it. After that, they moved into algorithms and efficiency, and I remember the discussion turning toward a binary search tree. The third technical interview started with an expectation that I’d give a presentation, even though I hadn’t been informed of that. Luckily I had slides from prior work, so I presented them and then answered questions. Then we moved into more technical topics like control theory, homogeneous transformation matrices, and degrees of freedom.
