My experience soured quickly after I was sent a take-home exercise with very little context. The instructions came with a doc and the assignment was framed as building a simple React app, but the details felt outdated and internally inconsistent. I remember being told to use a deprecated setup approach, and there were also odd mismatches between how an input type should be implemented and what the task actually described. Even the stated validity rules didn’t line up with the example/test cases they provided.

The bigger issue, though, was how the process was handled afterward. Communication was basically missing. I reached out multiple times over several days and didn’t get responses, and when I finally did hear back it was to say the role had already been filled. The explanation was that they had been mass-emailing candidates and didn’t have time to follow up.
