After I got in touch with HR, I was sent into a technical interview that was surprisingly pleasant. The center of it was Java core, and most of my time was spent on how I understood Java collections and how to apply them in real situations.

The questions weren’t just theoretical definitions. I kept getting prompted on when you’d choose different collection types and how you’d use them to solve practical problems. It felt like they were testing whether I could connect the basics to real-world usage, not just recall syntax.

My experience went off the rails more from scheduling and communication than from the interviews themselves. I first called after not hearing back for around ten days, and I was basically redirected to apply for a different program. I did that, and after more than a week I got invited for a phone interview.

The next day I spoke to someone expecting to discuss the women-in-tech track, but the conversation quickly turned into the junior software developer role instead. He said he’d email the online assessment, and I waited—then emailed back because nothing arrived. Days passed and I still wasn’t sent anything, so I stopped there.

Candidates noted that while the technical questions were manageable, they were still expected to perform at a high level.
