I walked into the process expecting an early-career-friendly interview, but it felt misaligned from the start. I met them at a campus career fair and then went into an in-person interview day from morning until mid-afternoon with multiple one-on-ones. The first few conversations were behavioral and conversational, and I could keep up with those without feeling blindsided.

Then the technical portion hit, and it was brutal in a way that felt out of proportion to my experience level. I was asked very advanced questions tied to tools I’d only had a short introductory exposure to, including performance-related topics and transformation details that clearly assumed more depth than what I had on my resume. I also ran into tough SQL and database questions. After hearing that I’d get very limited training and would be expected to go straight to client work, the rejection call afterward didn’t feel surprising so much as shocking—it was phrased like they loved the interviews but still decided I didn’t have enough technical experience.
