What is an Account Executive at Socket?
At Socket, an Account Executive is not just a standard software salesperson; they are a strategic advisor helping modern engineering and security teams solve one of the fastest-growing threats in technology: software supply chain attacks. Socket is redefining application security by proactively detecting and blocking malicious open-source packages before they can be integrated into a company's codebase. Unlike legacy security tools that rely on passive scanning and generate endless false positives, Socket actively blocks zero-day threats, typosquatting, and backdoors in real-time.
As an Account Executive, you will be responsible for driving adoption of this disruptive technology across commercial and enterprise organizations. You will engage with highly technical buyers, including Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs), VPs of Engineering, and security architects, who are often skeptical of traditional security vendors. Your role is to guide these sophisticated prospects through a technical discovery process, demonstrate how Socket integrates seamlessly into developer workflows, and prove the immediate value of proactive supply chain defense.
This position is highly collaborative and requires a close partnership with Sales Engineers and product teams to navigate complex environments. Because Socket sits at the intersection of developer productivity and security, successful Account Executives must possess a rare blend of high technical curiosity, strategic value-selling capabilities, and the execution discipline required to close high-value contracts in a rapidly evolving market.
