My process started with a recruiter call, and that call set the tone for how the rest of it would run. After that, I went into technical screens that were largely LeetCode-style, and I had to talk through my reasoning as I went rather than just hand-wave a final answer.
Then came the on-site rounds. I went through a mix of coding and systems design, and I also had portions that felt more like panel technical interviews where I was expected to demonstrate how I’d approach problems under real-time back-and-forth. In total, the loop felt like a handful of technical interviews—coding rounds at varying difficulty levels, plus design—and there was room for behavioral as well, often paired tightly with the technical flow. One part that surprised me was how sometimes the coding wasn’t exactly “textbook LeetCode,” but still required clean, maintainable logic rather than memorized patterns.

Difficult Positive Santa Monica, CA
After a recruiter call, I ended up going through a fairly stacked set of rounds. About a week or so later, I had multiple interviews that felt technical and fast-moving, but not chaotic. I worked through several coding conversations and then moved into systems design.

What to expect
Distilled from the reports
Recruiter Call & Initial Screening
The process typically begins with a recruiter call that outlines the interview structure and expectations. Candidates should be prepared for a mix of behavioral and technical questions right from this initial stage.
Candidates can expect multiple technical coding interviews that often include LeetCode-style problems, with varying levels of difficulty. It's crucial to articulate thought processes clearly and maintain code quality throughout these rounds.

Systems Design Interview
There is typically a systems design round that assesses candidates' ability to design features and understand architectural principles. This round may follow coding interviews and requires candidates to demonstrate both technical knowledge and practical application.

Behavioral & Cultural Fit Questions
Behavioral questions are integrated throughout the interview process, often paired with technical discussions. Candidates should prepare to discuss their experiences and how they align with the company's values and culture.
The interview experience can vary significantly based on the interviewers' styles and the overall dynamics of the sessions. Candidates may encounter both supportive and challenging environments, which can affect their performance.

Feedback & Closure
Candidates often report a lack of feedback post-interview, which can lead to uncertainty about their performance. It's important to seek clarity on next steps and outcomes to avoid feeling left in the dark.
