Average Positive Mexico

I went through an HR-first flow via an offshore/outsourcing company. My first interview was with HR, and the second was with the hiring team. The whole process felt fairly pleasant, and I got an email with the next steps quickly—within about five days.

After that, the focus was on continuing with signing the contract, so it didn’t feel like a long or vague negotiation stage. The pace and communication tone stood out to me as smooth compared to what I’d heard other processes could be like.

Difficult Negative Phoenix, AZ

I got pulled into a process that started with basically no traction on my own, then moved forward quickly once a recruiter stepped in. After a phone screen, I had a very deep 1:1 technical interview with a hiring manager. Even though I wasn’t totally sure what team I’d be on, I felt like I did very well—better than I’d expected based on past experiences.

Then came a culture-fit style round with two interviewers, including a second hiring manager and a director or VP. Timing was tight, but the interaction felt smooth. After that, the confusing part was the call back from the recruiter: they said they didn’t think I met the principal-level bar, but that they could meet my salary expectations at a senior level. That didn’t match how the interviews felt to me, because I didn’t think they hit my technical or leadership limits at all.
