My process began with a case-study style assessment that mixed SQL with Python coding and ended with a short additional assessment that felt like a logic-style check. Even though the questions were practical, the coding expectations meant I couldn’t just rely on intuition—I needed to be careful about both correctness and structure.

After that, my final stage was a marketplace-focused case study where the work was again coding-based and centered on analysis. It also asked for a “life story” style component and an in-depth walkthrough of one of my projects, which forced me to defend decisions and explain my reasoning clearly.

After I applied, I moved into an assessment-heavy process where they explicitly allowed AI help. My first hurdle was an online OA with both SQL and Python questions, and it ended up feeling surprisingly fast once I could lean on AI to get started. The next parts shifted between timed database work and deeper written-style evaluation: I did a take-home style assessment using pandas, where I had to query across provided datasets and also answer a couple of open-ended prompts with an actual short write-up summarizing what I found.

Following the assessment, the technical interview mirrored the take-home theme but in SQL—more about interpreting the ask, writing correct queries, and explaining the logic behind the solution rather than just producing an output. I also had a life story interview that was fully behavioral, centered on my background and how it connected to the role. There wasn’t a sense of trickery so much as a consistent emphasis on communication and making sure I could talk through my thinking.
