I applied through LinkedIn, and about a month later I got a call that moved me straight into a single interview round. The questions were mostly basic finance topics, and they also had me share my screen while I completed a simple Excel task/function they provided.

Overall it felt fairly easy and straightforward—there wasn’t much back-and-forth or complexity in the format. I left with the sense that they were testing whether I could handle the basics quickly, especially in Excel, but I didn’t end up receiving an offer.

After the recruiter outreach, my process moved in a smooth, low-stress way. I had two rounds: an HR conversation and then a technical round. In the technical discussion, I was asked about my work experience and how I approached things like research and building models, along with how I handled client engagement. The finance questions were fairly basic and focused on my past responsibilities.

In the HR stage, we covered typical fit questions like expectations, location, and the kind of work I was looking for, and they also walked me through what the role and salary structure would look like. Once I aligned on salary, they continued the process internally with their senior management, then I got confirmation from HR and the offer letter followed—though in this write-up I only know I didn’t accept, since these experiences report no offer end-state for the group.
