After a recruiter screening, I moved straight into a quick hiring manager call and then two peer interviews back-to-back, with the overall feel being very personable and get-to-know-you. Each conversation was mostly about my background and experience, why I wanted the role, and what I understood the position to involve, plus some basic experience-based questions. By the time I finished the last peer call, both of my peer interviewers had spoken positively and essentially pointed me toward the next stage.
But the momentum stopped after that. I waited and then reached out to follow up because it had been about a week with no update. I followed up again a little later and still didn’t hear anything, and what I eventually received was only a feedback survey. Even though the actual conversations went well, it left a sour taste—especially because I’d already spent so much time interviewing and the recruiter team felt unresponsive afterward.
