Recruiting started with a brief call with the company’s recruiter, where I asked a clarifying question about the “security” wording in the job title. The response was that they weren’t sure, and that uncertainty made me prepare for something broader. A Codility test followed with two parts: first, fixing code so tests pass by iterating until it works, and second, building a simple CRUD controller. I didn’t get all tests to pass, and the feedback situation felt muddy—there was ambiguity about test naming and I even sent a screenshot to argue that one test case wasn’t right, but I didn’t receive a direct follow-up.

After that, the technical interview with the tech lead covered a wide range of topics, but the focus ended up feeling security-heavy in a way that didn’t match my expectations. There was also an additional hiring-manager style conversation where we talked through my projects, challenges, successes, and failures, and the tone felt like it went well. Still, after these rounds, I received a rejection and didn’t get the feedback I was hoping for, which left the whole process feeling more abrupt than it needed to be.
