I interviewed for a developer role with a clear Java and system-design tilt, and the structure matched that expectation: four rounds covering Java and Spring Boot fundamentals, plus deeper design and creation-focused system design. Across the interviews, I had to talk through architecture decisions and design patterns, and I also faced a round that mixed data structures and SQL.

The technical questions weren’t limited to one theme. I spent time on core Java and Spring Boot concepts, then moved into designing systems based on prompts related to well-known patterns. Design patterns came up with extra emphasis on how to actually build the right abstractions rather than just naming them. The DSA + SQL round added more practical problem-solving, and I needed to keep my explanations crisp while working through the logic.

Easy Positive Singapore

After I applied, I got a Zoom interview pretty quickly. It felt straightforward: the call had a few sections and mostly matched what my resume already covered. I answered questions about my background first, then did a couple of coding problems that were described as easy to medium LeetCode-style, and finally there were general CS topics where they probed things like OOP, DBMS, or OS concepts.

The whole experience was easy in difficulty, and the format stayed light and conversational rather than stressful. I also had rounds that mixed basics with quick brain-teaser style thinking, plus a prompt to describe my project, so it wasn’t only coding. In my mind, the main challenge was just clarity—staying confident while explaining my thinking—and for me language came up as a real issue in the hiring process, since one earlier interview didn’t go well due to English.
