From the start, the process felt like it had a bait-and-switch vibe. I had early screens go well—recruiter call, a hiring manager conversation, and then a live technical assessment. After that, the recruiter wanted to move me forward but with the role downleveled, and the compensation they mentioned didn’t match what I saw for the same-level position on their own site.
When I pressed for a clearer explanation and asked for specifics, it turned into tension instead of transparency. The conversation shifted away from my performance and toward vague reasoning about how they “always” stick to a mid range. After that, I was simply ghosted even though the interviews had gone smoothly up to that point.
