Average Negative Austin, TX

Across my attempts, the process felt sloppy and at times adversarial rather than professional. In one stretch, I was told an interview existed and then it later got canceled, only to be followed by a rejection letter—essentially wasting the energy of everyone involved. In another situation, I completed a technical test, waited for the review, and then got rejected without even receiving the evaluation I’d completed work for, with no feedback after I asked.

I also had recruiter behavior that felt hostile or simply irrational. I was questioned in odd ways unrelated to the role, and when I tried to discuss compensation range, the interaction got confrontational. Separately, I went through screens that seemed to go well technically, but the hiring side downleveled the role with vague reasoning and moved the offer to a lower salary range; when I pressed for specifics tied to how the company posted pay, the recruiter got upset and then ghosted.
