My interview started off feeling like it was going to be mostly behavioral, but it quickly shifted into something more technical. I was asked about my projects and my problem-solving approach, and the conversation included technical questions that connected to the basics—questions around diodes and impedance, and calculating current in a simple resistor circuit. Even when the format felt casual, the interviewer kept digging for understanding rather than buzzwords.
There was also a “choose what you want to talk about” element, where I could lean into technical topics from my background. I ended up discussing past experience from my resume and how I would handle other technical scenarios, and they probed enough to make it clear they were listening for depth.

Difficult Negative United States
My interview felt genuinely difficult. After they discussed the general work done at the location, the questions turned into something that felt disconnected from the role—there were several technical questions tied to the job title but not clearly aligned with the actual responsibilities. They also asked about software engineering principles and experience, but again, the topics didn’t seem to track closely with what the role required.
It was the kind of questioning that made it hard to feel like I could “study the right thing,” because the technical content felt unrelated to the direction they were pointing.
