My process dragged on and felt exhausting from the start. It began with a recruiter call where we went over my CV, my background, and why I was applying. After that I met with a hiring manager who mixed context about the role and org with a lot of technical, quickfire questions tied to my experience. Then an engineering manager interview turned into a deeper technical probe of the stack I’d worked with, with lots of follow-ups.

Coding rounds started soon after. I did a first HackerRank coding test in a two-part format with another senior developer, then a second stage that included a medium-level algorithms challenge and a system design exercise for a large social-media style application. Later I had a conversation with another developer where I expected it to be just tech and role discussion, but I ended up getting a coding problem and then the chat continued after I finished. That eventually led to a meeting with a program manager focused on role fit and technical questions about my experience, and finally a group product manager interview that combined more discussion of my background with additional technical questions.
