Difficult Negative Edinburgh, Scotland

I started with a one-way video interview where I was asked several job-related questions one after another. It felt rigid right from the beginning, and then the process moved into a more normal two-way Zoom interview.

During the live conversation, the recruiter was late and the questions were vague. After a couple of questions, I was asked a final prompt where my answer didn’t match what they expected, and I was told I was denied on the spot. I later got clarification about what the question meant, and when I answered again with the proper context, it still didn’t reverse the decision.

Easy Negative New York, NY

The process started with an asynchronous video interview where I answered a set of canned questions and left recorded responses. It felt slow and impersonal, and the whole setup made it seem like the video format was a poor way to evaluate someone.

Compared to other hiring steps I’d experienced, it didn’t feel very responsive or professional—at least during that stage. Overall, the biggest thing that stuck with me was how unengaging and delayed the early process felt, before I could even get to more interactive evaluation.
