Average Positive Bristol, England

After a recruiter call, I had a short online interview and then moved into the office stage pretty soon after. The first conversations felt straightforward and conversational rather than technical. I was asked about my background and what had brought me to recruitment, plus how I saw myself fitting into the culture and the role. There was also a bit of “how would you handle rejection at the start” type of discussion, and it came across like they were testing my attitude as much as my experience.

The office part followed a familiar pattern: I met a handful of people across the business, including managers and senior leaders, and I kept noticing that certain questions got echoed throughout the day. They wanted the story of me—why recruitment, what motivated me, what my goals were—and they were also checking for practical understanding of the job rather than anything like problem-solving. Overall it felt like a proper two-way conversation, and the tone stayed professional and fairly relaxed.
