Difficult Neutral Madrid

My interview journey felt like a clear escalation, especially because it was built for a middle/senior level bar. I started with a screening discussion that had light technical questions, then I immediately moved into a coding challenge focused on a URL shortening service. The emphasis there was on writing clean, production-like work with test-driven development and object-oriented design, and I also got a few concurrency questions layered on top.

After that, I went into a Java backend-focused round where the conversation turned into a broader survey of topics: Java itself, concurrency, SQL databases, microservice patterns, and even deployment strategy questions. That round was the moment where it became obvious this wasn’t just about coding speed—it was about being comfortable bouncing between system-level concepts and implementation details.
