After a recruiter call, I had another conversation with the hiring (district) manager. From there, I interviewed with both the hiring manager and a senior business development manager. The overall vibe was pretty light on pressure for me—questions felt easygoing, and the hiring manager in particular was more relaxed than I expected. The senior business development manager, though, seemed a bit overwhelmed, and that contrast stood out during the discussions.
Across the sessions, the questions stayed fairly straightforward and focused on fit for the role, how I would approach sales, and how I thought about the day-to-day. I remember feeling like I was answering more than defending myself, if that makes sense—polite interviewers, clear conversation, and no weird traps. The process didn’t feel especially long or intimidating.

Scheduling became the hardest part of my process rather than the interviews themselves. My phone screen got rescheduled multiple times, and then on the agreed-upon day the recruiter didn’t show up. I followed up to find out whether there was a new time, and eventually I heard back that the position had been put on hold, with the explanation that they didn’t want to waste my time.
That explanation didn’t land for me, because my time had already been spent blocking out hours to be available. It left a sour feeling early on, and it also made everything afterward feel less reliable. Even in the stretches where things did move forward, it wasn’t always smooth—there were examples where meetings seemed to be forgotten or technical issues came up, leading to reschedules and me having to reach out to get updates.
