The most memorable part of my process was the very first round—it was run by an automated AI voice instead of a person. I was told ahead of time that this initial interview would be AI-based, and once it started it asked me about my projects right from the beginning. The tone felt like it was trying to “grill” me through my background, not just gather surface-level details.
After that initial AI check, the next steps were framed as additional coding-focused rounds, but the AI portion was the one that really threw me off. Even when I thought I answered reasonably, it could be difficult for the system to interpret what I meant, especially around how my responses matched what it was looking for. I also remember hearing that they effectively decide whether to move forward after that first AI interaction, and I didn’t get past it.

I interviewed for a client role with a format that felt tightly structured around JavaScript. Round one was all about JS fundamentals in a very practical way—things like hoisting and async behavior, plus how setTimeout behaves. I was given code snippets and had to provide the output with a clear reason behind it, so it wasn’t enough to guess; I had to walk through how the runtime would actually behave.
Round two went deeper into hands-on coding. I was asked to implement a polyfill for debouncing and also build a small todo list. That round tested whether I could translate the concepts into working logic without getting stuck on edge cases or details.
