My interview journey felt pretty direct and role-focused. The process landed in two rounds: one behavioral-plus-technical conversation where two managers interviewed me, and then a separate technical round with two Associate Directors. The questions were grounded in the basics I needed for the role and the way the team thought about financial statements and current market context.
In the early round, I talked through my background and then answered technical questions that expected comfort with finance fundamentals. They also asked me to connect my understanding to what was happening in the news and markets, not just give definitions. The second round stayed technical and pushed a bit deeper into how I would reason about capital markets concepts. Overall it didn’t feel like a trick process—more like they wanted someone who could get up to speed quickly.

Average Positive United States
I came into the process through a networking connection tied to school alumni, and from there it moved into two interview rounds. The format stayed consistent: both rounds had technical components, and the first round was almost entirely technical. That first conversation was led by an Analyst and Associate, and it leaned on my understanding and ability to talk through finance fundamentals.
The second round felt like a Superday. It brought multiple interviewers in a short span, and the last stretch was essentially a set of back-to-back interviews. The overall difficulty stayed in the average range for me, but it was clearly more technical than typical behavioral-heavy screens.

Interview Structure & Rounds
The interview process typically consists of two main rounds: an initial round focusing on behavioral and technical questions, followed by a more intensive technical round or assessment center with multiple interviewers. Candidates should be prepared for a mix of one-on-one and back-to-back interviews.
Candidates can expect a strong emphasis on finance fundamentals, including accounting principles and market awareness, with questions designed to assess both basic knowledge and the ability to apply it to current events. Be ready to discuss capital markets concepts in depth.
Early interviews often include behavioral questions aimed at understanding motivation and fit for the role, such as strengths, weaknesses, and reasons for interest in the position. Candidates should prepare to articulate their career goals and how they align with the company's values.

Assessment Components
Some candidates may encounter assessment-style elements, including online assessments and presentation tasks that require preparation ahead of time. These components are designed to evaluate both technical knowledge and communication skills in a finance context.
The overall atmosphere of the interviews is described as conversational and engaging, with interviewers showing genuine interest in candidates' responses. This can help ease nerves and create a more comfortable environment for discussion.
