Average Negative France

After a video application, I got called in for an interview with the hiring manager. The in-person conversation was positive and I felt like I’d be invited to the next step. I then followed up about a week and a half later to ask about timelines, and the hiring manager gave me a clear schedule for next steps.

The schedule came and went and I didn’t hear anything, so I emailed again a few days after the stated date. That second follow-up didn’t get a response either. The lack of basic courtesy really stuck with me, because the first meeting itself had felt respectful and promising.

Average Neutral United States

After an initial recruiter touchpoint, I ended up with a short phone screen that was very focused on my background. It started with resume and background, and they went item by item, asking for details and even having me rank my technical skills. We also spent time on specific wording from my resume, which caught me slightly off guard because I hadn’t expected that level of granular follow-up.

A few days later I spoke with a principal for about half an hour. There wasn’t a separate screening call beyond the first stage, and the conversation felt genuinely relaxed—more like a fit check than an interrogation. I came away feeling that the questions they asked were aligned with what the role actually involved, and that they communicated clearly.
