My process stretched across three rounds, with two virtual screens and then a final round that was done in person. The first round combined coding questions with questions about frameworks and core concepts. I could tell they wanted more than surface-level familiarity, because at points I got tripped up on framework concepts rather than the actual coding.

In the second round, the discussion went deep into the “why/how/when” of the framework—starting from how BDD ties into the bigger picture and how it connects to CI/CD. I also had to write basic code as part of explaining how the framework would be structured and executed.

My interview skewed hard technically and felt genuinely difficult. I had a lot of Java-related questioning, especially around Java collections, and Selenium with Java. On top of that, REST API topics came up, including different HTTP status codes and how GET and POST requests work.

We also covered OOP fundamentals—abstraction and interface—and the interview went into WebDriver wait behavior. There was a lot to keep straight at once, and it wasn’t a test where I could rely on one strong area to carry me.
