Average Positive Rome

What to expect

Distilled from the reports

Interview Structure & Timeline

The interview process typically starts with an HR screening followed by multiple technical interviews, often culminating in a motivational discussion with a senior manager or partner. The overall timeline from initial contact to final decision tends to be around four weeks, with a relatively quick progression through the steps.

Technical Focus & Depth

Candidates can expect a strong emphasis on technical knowledge, particularly related to banking risks such as interest rate and liquidity risks, as well as financial reasoning and problem-solving skills. Interviews often include practical scenarios or business cases that require candidates to demonstrate their analytical capabilities.

Presentation Component

Some candidates may be required to prepare and present a structured analysis of financial institutions, focusing on aspects like profitability and risk management. This step assesses the ability to synthesize information and communicate effectively, rather than just answering questions.

Behavioral & Motivational Aspects

The final stages often include discussions that are less about technical skills and more about cultural fit and personal motivations. These conversations aim to align candidate expectations with the company's work environment and values.

Difficulty & Candidate Experience

Candidates report a challenging experience, particularly in the technical rounds where depth of knowledge and logical reasoning are rigorously tested. Many felt that the process was coherent but demanding, with a clear focus on assessing their problem-solving approach.

Outcome & Feedback

Despite the structured process, many candidates did not receive offers, often feeling that the final stages lacked decisiveness or clarity regarding their performance. The waiting period for feedback can also create uncertainty about the overall evaluation.
