I advanced through a recruiter screen, then moved on to a hiring manager and a peer interview. The process ended up taking longer than expected, and midway through, the hiring manager left the company—so I had to essentially restart the thread of conversations.

By the time everything reached the end, the result was delivered via an HR email letting me know I wasn’t a fit. It felt abrupt given how far I’d already made it, and the extra disruption from the hiring manager change made the whole timeline feel frustrating.

I got involved after a recruiter reached out to me via LinkedIn and set up a few phone conversations to discuss the role. For the onsite, I prepared a project relevant to what they were looking for, and I spent time getting ready so I could talk through it clearly.

While I was there, the team felt very friendly and fun to talk to, and I honestly had an amazing time throughout the entire process. The interviews involved studying Plaid’s products and understanding how they fit into their work. It never felt dull, largely because the product was genuinely interesting.
