Average Negative India

My technical interviews left me with the feeling that expectations were mismatched. In one of the rounds, the interviewer seemed unsure about how the interview should go, and the bar they set felt like it expected an architecture-level profile despite my years of experience being in the middle range. The discussion centered on Azure services and patterns like Azure Functions, Service Bus, Azure Queue, and Cosmos DB.

In another technical experience, I ran into a similar issue: the focus drifted toward nitpicky Java syntax instead of broader engineering thinking. I was grilled on basic Java fundamentals rather than system design, architecture reasoning, or trade-offs like scalability, concurrency, APIs, or database design. It felt more like a syntax check and logic didn’t get the room it should have for a senior/architect-style description.

Easy Negative India

My interview felt great on the day—everything about the conversation and my impression of the interviewers was unusually positive. I walked out thinking it had gone really well technically and professionally.

But despite that, I was rejected. Looking back, the part that bothered me most wasn’t the lack of offer by itself—it was the conviction that the evaluation wasn’t fair. I felt like the people making the decision weren’t able to verify what actually happened during the interview, which made the rejection feel inconsistent with the experience I had.
