My first step was a recruiter/hiring manager phone screening. We went through my resume and talked about the kinds of projects I’d done and the skills I’d built up. The questions were mostly clarifying—things to understand what I’d worked on and how I’d describe my experience—without any real technical assessment.
The vibe was friendly and conversational. We also covered my career goals, my availability, and whether I was genuinely interested in the role. Overall it felt like a screening to make sure we were aligned rather than a test of engineering ability.

After I applied, I heard back about a week later that they wanted to move things forward. I did a basic pre-screen form, and then roughly another week passed before I was scheduled for an interview. Everything felt very professional and the interviewers came across as both kind and professional.
The interview itself stayed focused on the job I would be doing. I was asked basic technical questions tied to the kind of work on the team, and I remember having to explain my experience clearly and connect it back to those topics. It wasn’t adversarial, just more of a structured discussion around whether my background fit.
