I went through a fairly linear sequence of rounds. After the recruiter conversation, about a week later I had a technical screen focused on DSA at a medium level. It felt like a straightforward problem-solving checkpoint where I needed to communicate my thinking clearly before, during, and after coding.
The next round raised the bar. I got a tree-based DSA problem described as medium-to-hard, and I also had a system-design style prompt tied to Paytm Wallet. The mix meant I wasn’t just solving an algorithm—I had to switch gears to discuss design tradeoffs as well. The final technical round combined core Java with questions that referenced my resume, and it also included Kafka. That last step felt the most “role-specific,” because it connected language fundamentals to what I’d listed in my background, and it was definitely more detailed than pure coding.

Average Neutral Noida
My process was short and direct, with two main technical interviews after the initial scheduling. The first round was DSA with medium-style LeetCode problems, and I mostly focused on explaining my approach and then coding confidently. The whole vibe felt practical—questions that were familiar in pattern, as long as I could execute cleanly.
The second round was technical but still centered on DSA at a medium level. I also had core Java questions where they tested both basics and OOP concepts, so I couldn’t rely only on problem-solving. What stood out was how much the round expected Java fundamentals to back up my coding—after I solved the DSA part, the Java/OOP discussion carried a lot of weight. Overall it felt manageable, and the difficulty stayed in the “average” zone rather than turning into anything unexpected.

What to expect
Distilled from the reports
Technical Rounds Structure
The interview process typically consists of multiple technical rounds focused on DSA, system design, and core programming concepts, with a clear progression from easier to more challenging problems. Candidates should expect a mix of coding tasks and discussions on design trade-offs, especially in relation to their past experiences.
DSASystem DesignCore Programming
DSA and Problem-Solving Focus
Most candidates encounter a heavy emphasis on data structures and algorithms (DSA) throughout the interviews, with problems ranging from medium to hard difficulty. It's crucial to practice common DSA problems, as interviewers often expect candidates to articulate their thought processes and optimize their solutions.

Core Java and OOP Concepts
Candidates should prepare for questions that assess their understanding of core Java and object-oriented programming (OOP) principles, as these topics are frequently integrated into technical discussions. Interviewers often look for a solid grasp of Java fundamentals alongside coding tasks.

Overall Difficulty and Pressure
The overall difficulty of the interview process is often perceived as high, with candidates feeling pressure to perform consistently across multiple rounds. Practicing under timed conditions and preparing for a range of technical topics can help alleviate some of this pressure.
