After a recruiter touchpoint, the process moved into a structured sequence that started with an online coding assessment and then moved into technical interviews. The coding part was on a proctored platform and the questions centered on LeetCode-style problem solving, which felt like a real filter. I scored well and then the next steps took me through backend-oriented discussions and deeper CS topics.
Across the technical rounds, I was asked about data structures and algorithms, plus backend fundamentals like databases and how you think about correctness and performance. System design and API design came up too, along with distributed systems concepts. I also had to talk through previous projects in a way that showed how I approached problems and made decisions during implementation.

Difficult Negative Tokyo
My process started with a coding assessment from a third-party platform, which I actually enjoyed because the structure felt familiar. After that, I had an HR screening where the interviewer came across as kind and helpful, and it put me at ease compared to how the rest of the journey would feel.
Then I moved into the “real” technical interviews. In the first technical conversation, there wasn’t much room to demonstrate language-specific implementation thinking—the interviewer didn’t dig into the concrete details I was prepared to discuss, like how I’d implement specific logic, what tradeoffs I’d choose, or how I’d work through framework-level knowledge. Instead, the flow didn’t feel interactive in a productive way, and I ended up feeling like I couldn’t show my abilities even though I had them.

Technical Interviews
Following the coding assessment, candidates engage in multiple technical interviews that cover data structures, algorithms, system design, and backend fundamentals. The interviews can feel disjointed, with varying levels of interaction and clarity from interviewers.

Cultural Fit and Values Assessment
Later rounds may include discussions focused on cultural fit and alignment with company values, though candidates often feel these rounds lack meaningful evaluation or feedback. The emphasis on cultural fit can sometimes overshadow technical performance.
