After I applied, a recruiter reached out and started with a fairly straightforward phone conversation. It began almost like a cold reach-out based on my resume in their system from a prior application, and then it turned into an intro session that felt flexible around scheduling. From there, the process kept moving quickly and conversationally, with each person on the call sounding genuinely interested in me and the role.

Next I spoke with the hiring manager, and then I sat down for a final conversation with a senior leader who oversaw broader teams. That last stage felt more like a real discussion about the future of the work and how my interests fit into it, not just a checklist. I remember the recruiter also following up the next day to schedule the final conversation, and even explaining why I had been selected in a way that genuinely boosted my confidence.

Average Neutral New York, NY

My process started with a recruiter screen that was about half an hour and focused on getting alignment on what they were looking for. After that, I went into interviews with the hiring manager and then a team/panel-style set of discussions. The late-stage conversation leaned more toward cultural and vision fit, and even though the atmosphere was different from the earlier technical parts, it still had structure.

What surprised me was how much pressure the timeline and length of the later stages could create. By the time I reached the hiring-manager/on-site portion, it ran long and I was mentally drained, which made it harder than it should’ve been to work through a straightforward algorithm problem. The next call with product owners also felt repetitive, with them essentially re-running questions and answers from earlier in the loop.
