Difficult Positive Tel Aviv-Yafo

I went through two interviews for a senior frontend-focused role. The first was a phone call where the interviewer walked me through their product and then asked me about my background and my Angular knowledge. I felt like it was a straightforward way to gauge fit and familiarity.

The second interview was remote via Zoom and lasted about two hours. It was structured in a clear sequence: an introduction, a technical orientation, and then live coding. Two interviewers ran the session together, and while it was a tough screen, it also felt very thoughtful. The interviewer even warned that the questions might be a little “annoying,” but that it wasn’t personal and that my thinking process and overall vibe mattered—not just whether I immediately knew every answer.

I started with a front-end technical interview with the hiring manager, and then it turned into a four-round onsite loop. In that loop, I had multiple categories mixed together.

One round was described as a backend knowledge check, but what they actually asked ended up being general questions about React and front-end concepts. Another round was a back-and-forth with the hiring manager. Then there was an algorithm round, followed by a final front-end coding round.
