I experienced a more intense technical setup where the onsite carried most of the weight. I started with relatively easy phone interviews, but the onsite ended up being an all-day stretch and noticeably harder than what came earlier. The onsite bar felt much higher, so it left me thinking the first steps could’ve been more evenly distributed instead of spending early effort on lower-stakes screens.

There were also clear signals around what they expected on the system design side: for instance, at one point the system design discussion referenced slides even though I hadn’t been told ahead of time to prepare anything, which added avoidable stress. On top of that, I ran into logistics where earlier scheduling or preparation details were a bit unclear, and that made the day feel tougher than the questions themselves.
